Brexit - further guidance if there’s no deal

At the end of the summer 2018 HMRC issued VAT and Customs guidance in the unlikely event that the UK exited the EU without a negotiated deal. At the time of publication a no-deal Brexit looked unlikely. What about now?

While maintaining the government line that a Brexit deal will be in place before 29 March 2019, HMRC has issued further guidance on what to expect and what action you and your business might need to take in case no-deal becomes a reality. The guidance is very wide, covering imports, exports, transportation services, passports for individuals and pets, animal food and much more. It’s worth checking, even if it’s just to make sure that you’re not overlooking steps you will need to take in a no-deal situation.
